    With a majority blue-collar workforce our client is largely unionised.

    Job Description

    Reporting to the HR Manager you will be responsible for:
    • Recruitment, onboarding, inductions, probation processes, workforce planning
    • Investigations, case management, performance management, grievances, terminations, fitness for work processes etc.
    • Ensuring all parties meet their legislative obligations as per the industrial instrument, working closely with payroll to ensure compliance to legislative requirements, supporting workforce for queries and concerns relating to their contracts or pay, responsibility for raising contracts, contract amendments, leave management, absenteeism etc.
    • Managing site access, heavy liaison with union reps, managing and maintaining union relationships, coordination of monthly employee meetings
    • Local Workers Compensation matters (prevention and management of live cases)
    • Overseeing local Health & Wellness initiatives and programs
    • Advising workforce on payroll, policy, processes and programs
    • Ensuring the delivery of work aligned with annual HR strategy and associated change management projects
    • General transactional and administrative HR duties including compliance and records management
    • Analysis & reporting


    The Successful Applicant

    To be considered for and successful in this role you will:
    • Offer a degree qualification with an HR specialisation or equivalent practical experience
    • Arrive with the relevant generalist technical skills and experience (circa 5 years + or equivalent exposure)
    • Be able to demonstrate a strong IR background derived from blue collar environments
    • Ideally arrive with a background in unionised environments, offering an understanding of associated dynamics
    • Have the ability to demonstrate achievements and a history of 'adding value' in previous roles - you are proactive and have high standards for your work and work outcomes
    • Be practical, easy-going, engaging, articulate, down-to-earth, collaborative, and process-driven
    • Be intrinsically motivated to succeed, calm under pressure, offer a strong work ethic, and arrive with a developed resilience
