About us
Little Penguins Group is a small national childcare operator who care about our people in our community (educators, families and of course the children).

We want to focus on exceptional HR processes that continue to support our educators and think outside the box with how this is delivered. This is a part time role x 3-4 days per week working across our 3 ACT services (Higgins, Ngunnawal and Charnwood) with the potential to move to full time.

About the role

The HR MANAGER will be part of, and work with the Senior Leadership Team. They will report into the Managing Director/ Approved Provider and will be tasked with balancing operational HR with the delivery of strategic business solutions.

This is a HR Generalist role and you will be responsible for all aspects of the HR function, which will include but not be limited to:

Working with the Managing Director to develop and execute the HR strategy in the business
Implementing/ creating HR practices, policies and documentation compliant with legislation and the company's values and strategic focus.
Work with the Centre Directors in the business to support and guide them with their HR needs
Work with the Managing Director and Leadership team to implement any organisational change in culture or performance to align with direction of the business.
Help to develop and implement strategies to attract, retain and develop high-calibre employees
Be a part of creating a collaborative and inclusive culture that focuses on our people's wellbeing.

About you
To be successful in this role you will have experience working in a Human Resource environment who has all round knowledge.

Someone who is passionate about making a difference in people’s lives and not afraid to think outside the box. You will be exposed to a broad range of HR tasks ranging from advisory, payroll, recruitment and reporting.

The successful candidate will have the following:
Sound knowledge of employment law, legislation and relevant experience in applying that knowledge
A hardworking approach and strong sense of accountability
Excellent organisational skills with an eye for detail
Ability to multitask and prioritise
Professional communication skills, both written and verbal
Discretion and trust in dealing with confidential and sensitive information
Bachelor degree in the area of Business, Human Resources, Psychology, or Organisational Development
3+ years of experience in a generalist human resources position
Must have or be willing to apply for a working with vulnerable children card.
