About you

As a Training Specialist you will be a key player in facilitating successful business change initiatives and demonstrate a consistent, collaborative and logical approach towards education and learning related activities. Your strong background in instructional design and developing quality learning solutions to meet business requirements and deliver genuine success. you will be the kind of person who shines when identifying gaps in knowledge and building quality learning solutions to bridge the divide. Your skill and expertise in building relationships will make it second nature for you to collaborate with the customer and other SME's to document, design, and deliver customised content in Moodle that meets all the requirements. You will be passionate about implementing new learning strategies and sharing knowledge to all levels of the business.

Day to day your duties will include:
Lead the analysis, design, development, implementation and evaluation of learning solutions to be utilised inside of a Moodle environment.
Liaise with stakeholders across the organisation and the Department of Defence to Identify education and training opportunities
Research and create detailed training plans outlining learning strategies and programs in line with industry best practice
Work closely with service owners and process owners to define objectives, gather and determine training material and artefacts
Design, develop and maintain interactive online training courses using ADELE, Moodle, H5P, Adobe Creative Cloud
Understand and work to international HTML5 standard
Understand and work with CSS3 style sheets
Maintain, update and enhance the maturity, applicability and currency of existing training courses
Provide a facility for online reporting and deliver training statistics
Assess student suitability and competency for requested training
Advantage to have worked in the Defence environment
Develop, document and maintain training plans and a training register
Maintain and update training related documentation

Problem-solving - think creatively and work collaboratively within SIAM, Defence and Service provider teams
Good listener and communicator - the ability to ask the right questions and correctly understand the information received is essential
Excellent communication skills and ability to build strong relationships
The ability to work to tight deadlines and in a collaborative team environment
Documentation and clear writing skills
Confident presenter
Energetic and enthusiastic demeanour
High level interpersonal and relationship management skills
Drive education and learning programs for operational delivery
ITIL certification an advantage
Defence NV1 Clearance (highly regarded but not essential)
In addition to the above requirements, you will also need to be an Australian Citizen and the ability to obtain a Baseline clearance.
