The Role

The Team Leader Settlements is part of the Fulfillment and Servicing division and is responsible for leading a team of Settlement Officers to deliver exceptional customer service and support new and existing customers through the timely settlement based activities. Additionally, you will be responsible for the operational performance of an external partner, First Mortgage Australia, who partner with Suncorp to complete settlements end to end.

Key Accountabilities


Reporting to the Manager Fulfillment & Servicing, you will also:

  • Lead, coach and manage a team of Settlement Officers to achieve key business objectives and outcomes
  • Drive positive engagement and enablement through coaching and career planning and in line with established HR systems and frameworks
  • Foster and promote a culture of enablement, simplification and continuous improvement in all facets of the team including the review of systems, processes and products to ensure effectiveness in design, implementation and execution
  • Develop weekly, monthly, quarterly and annual resource planning with daily review of team efficiency
  • Foster and promote a culture of risk awareness and management in line with groups risk appetite and risk frameworks
  • Build and promote a customer focused culture within the team and meet internal customer service targets
  • Identify inefficient processes, systems and procedures and recommend /assist in delivering continuous improvement initiatives
  • Engagement with first and second line of defence risk advisors to support strong management of operational risks in the team and across the division.

Skills & Experience

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • 5 years + industry experience – essential
  • Demonstrable SME experience with operational and partner processes and associated systems (e.g. CBP, Hogan, Sunlink, Allfi etc) – mandatory
  • Experience in roles requiring high levels of stakeholder influence, presentation and collaboration – highly desirable
  • Previous leadership experience - advantageous
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Collaborative and consultative approach
  • Results orientated
  • Proven ability to prioritise tasks, work to deadlines and deliver on competing priorities
