St John Ambulance Australia - Canberra, ACT

HR & Recruitment
Source: uWorkin

Full Job Description
  • Are you a learning resources specialist with keen attention to detail, high levels of integrity and a 'don't give up' attitude?
  • Join one of Australia's most influential NFP organisations in this busy and varied opportunity creating training, assessment and e-learning resources.
  • Attractive remuneration negotiable with skills and experience + salary sacrificing options!

About the Organisation
St John Ambulance Australia is a self-funding charitable organisation and is Australia's largest first aid trainer and provider of first aid at public events. St John has been active in Australia for over 130 years.

The organisation teaches practical life-saving skills to over 1 million people each year and its members contribute over 1.2 million hours of voluntary service annually.
About the Opportunity
St John Ambulance Australia (St John) now has an exciting opportunity for a Learning Resource Development Officer to join their team. Reporting to the training manager, you will be responsible for designing, developing and maintaining training, assessment and e-learning resources for both accredited and non-accredited programs.

The Learning Resources Development Officer also works closely with other members of the Training Team, the State and Territory St John offices and members of the e-learning team.

More specifically, your day-to-day responsibilities will include:

  • Designing and developing training and assessment resources for a wide range of first aid related courses;
  • Developing content for e-learning courses;
  • Maintaining a library of training, assessment and e-learning resources; and
  • Ensuring all training resources are compliant with the appropriate legislation and regulation.

We have offices in Canberra and Melbourne, and as such, you will have the opportunity to work from either location. Additionally, St John is committed to supporting the work-life balance of their team, and are happy to consider a variety of working arrangements depending on your needs.
About You
To be considered for this position you will have a Certificate IV in Training and Assessment (or equivalent), or be eager to undertake this qualification with the support of St John. Demonstrated experience in the design and development of training programs, and/or previous experience working with an NFP organisation will be advantageous, and help you hit the ground running in your new role.

One of the biggest challenges of this role is the ability to create product/curriculum for states and territories under a federated organisational structure. This role requires you to work collaboratively with your regional colleagues to build programs that meet regulatory and compliance requirements. Because of this, strong communication and diplomacy skills and the ability to sell the 'why' behind training curriculum and getting buy-in from each region will be critical to your success in this role.

St John is looking for someone with keen attention to detail, high levels of integrity, a flexible approach to their work and a 'don't give up' attitude. You will be highly organised and be comfortable working autonomously and in a team environment.

Computer literacy and Microsoft suite proficiency are also essential for success in this role.

St John Ambulance Australia is committed to workforce diversity and applicants who are Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander, come from a diverse cultural or linguistic background are encouraged to apply.

About the Benefits
This is a rewarding opportunity to truly make a difference and give back to the community within a reputable and long-standing not-for-profit organisation.

In return for your hard work and dedication, you'll enjoy a competitive remuneration package, negotiable with experience and qualifications plus salary sacrificing options.
