About the role


Our People and Culture team are going through an exciting period of evolution and growth, with several new positions created to better service our clients and to deliver an innovative and contemporary people strategy.


The Team Leader Talent Acquisition will be responsible for leading the talent acquisition function and strategy across Yarra Ranges Council. Supported by the Executive Officer P&C Operations, this position will support the formulation of a refreshed recruitment strategy and direction that modernises existing practices, dares to challenge the ‘status quo’ of standard recruitment, experiments with new attraction methods and maximises existing and emerging technological trends to support leaders with their talent acquisition needs.


Leading a small Talent Acquisition team, you will provide coaching, developmental support and technical expertise to deliver an end-to-end recruitment function that enhances hiring manager and candidate experience, while harnessing and developing our internal talent. You will also have a role in supporting the new system implementation of Technology One.

What you’ll bring to our team


  • A unique perspective to recruitment that encompasses modern technology solutions to attract high-calibre candidates
  • Extensive experience in a high-volume end-to-end recruitment function.
  • Demonstrated experience in implementing innovative or creative recruitment solutions.
  • Well-articulated verbal and written communication skills with experience in policy or strategy development.
  • Excellent values, self-awareness and influential leadership qualities that can lead a small recruitment team.
  • Experience in Technology One, SuccessFactors, Comensura or similar HRIS is advantageous.
  • National Criminal History Check (Police Check)

Salary starts from $88,300 per annum (Band 6), plus superannuation
