We're seeking an enthusiastic HR Professional to join our team at Animal Welfare League (AWL).

In this fast-paced and varied role you will be hands on with the delivery of day to day human resource functions, recruitment and administration.

About AWL

AWL creates happy homes for stray and abandoned animals, including pets whose owners can no longer care for them.

We reunite lost dogs and cats with their human family, provide temporary shelter through our foster care program and support thousands of responsible owners by boarding their pets. For those grieving the loss of a faithful companion, our cremation team offers ways to say goodbye.

About the position

We are seeking a full-time People, Culture & Safety Coordinator to join our team. Working a 37.5hr week between 8.30 am and 4.30 pm.

Reporting to the General Manager People, Culture & Safety, this role will suit someone who is flexible, energetic, intuitive and motivated. You will have excellent attention to detail, exceptional organisational and system skills, outstanding verbal and written communication, a strong commitment to quality and the ability to maintain confidences.

About you

To be successful in this role you will have:

  • Minimum 3 years work experience in Human Resources with understanding of the principles and current best practice strategies of managing volunteers
  • Tertiary qualification in Human Resources or relevant field
  • Return to Work Coordinator training (desirable)
  • People management experience
  • Understanding of relevant HR and WHS legislation
  • Excellent organisational and analytical skills and ability to work autonomously and flexibility to meet changing deadlines and business needs
  • Demonstrated ability to maintain privacy, confidentiality, exercise discretions and reasonable judgement
  • Highly organised with the ability to meet deadlines and work in a high-volume work environment
