The Position

As part of our continuing business transformation, we are looking for a dynamic Training and Safety Manager to join our team In Keysborough, Victoria

Reporting to the Business Unit Manager – Pacific you will be skilled across a variety of areas in training and safety, and be directly responsible for driving the development of technical competencies and safety culture across the business.

Key Responsibilities

People & Technical Development

  • Create, develop and deliver training material to our Service Technicians
  • Develop a training matrix to identify competency gaps
  • Work with our HR team to develop a competency framework to support our team members
  • Develop a Junior Tech Program

Contractor Development
  • Engage existing contractors and identify areas that need to engage new sub-contractors
  • Map existing locations of client assets and review geographical coverage to understand our client base
  • Geographic knowledge of Australia and New Zealand and working knowledge of National WHS legislation and various state-based WHS legislations .
  • Create standardisation across sub-contractor base and engage to negotiate favourable terms.

Safety
  • Develop and execute H&S plans in the workplace according to Legal compliance and State Legislation
  • Evaluate practices, procedures and facilities to assess risk and adherence to the law
  • Conduct training and presentations for health and safety matters and accident prevention
  • Build processes to ensure effective inspect of equipment and machinery to observe possible unsafe conditions
  • Investigate accidents or incidents to discover causes and handle worker’s compensation claims
  • Recommend solutions to issues, improvement opportunities or new prevention measures
  • Report on health and safety awareness, issues


Skills And Competencies
  • Previous experience as a Trainer and a HSE professional
  • Demonstrated Leadership and management skills
  • Industry experience highly regarded
  • Excellent time management and organisational skills
  • A self-motivated team player
