This role sits within the People Services Team as part of the larger People Function and will be responsible for ensuring excellence in matters relating to our people; providing support and guidance to our employees and leaders across a variety of people related matters and initiatives.

The People Services Advisor will work closely with the People Consulting Partners to develop and maintain trusted relationships and deliver consistent, professional HR advice in a high volume, fast paced and changing environment. This person will also provide support with performance management, injury management, health and safety, employee relations, reward and recognition, retention, and talent identification, learning & development and HR reporting & administration.

What your day looks like:

  • Coach and provide initial advice to managers queries regarding employment relations, seeking guidance and assistance for more complex matters.
  • Maintain knowledge and understanding of employment legislation and conditions of employment, ensuring all HR advice is in line with any requirements under modern awards, NES and Fair Work Act.
  • Contribute to the development and review HR Policies and Procedures.
  • Work in partnership with line managers and People Consulting Partners in ensuring that career plans and goals are developed and implemented for all employees.
  • Provide operational support for HR cyclical activity, ensuring processes and standards are executed in a manner that supports the business objectives.
  • Proactively contribute to the development and delivery of training programs within allocated portfolio.
  • Proactively build credible relationships the People team to action HR best practice, operational efficiencies and eliminate duplication of spend and effort.
  • Drive continuous improvement of all processes and activities by providing regular feedback.
  • Collaborate with team to deliver team and individual goals.
  • Drive data integrity and be accountable for accuracy & leverage HRIS system, Workday to make it easier for leaders to interact with People Team.

What we need from you:

  • Qualification in Human Resources will be highly regarded
  • Strong working knowledge of employment legislation and employee relations is essential
  • Strong customer service focus with a proactive approach to problem solving
  • Proven ability to recommend and deliver appropriate strategies and innovative solutions to stakeholders
  • Excellence in communicating across varied stakeholders
  • Maintain quality and effectiveness while adjusting to changing priorities
  • Discretion and understanding of the importance of managing confidential information
  • Workday HRIS System exposure, preferred
  • A Confident self-starter, who has good judgement and is a forward thinker
