Your new company
A Small and specialized WHS department within the NSW Government are offering an opportunity for a WHS BP role based in the heart of Sydney, with a competitive hourly rate, and a focus on designing and delivering WHS policies, procedures, programs and reporting to promote and maintain a safe environment and culture and auditing on-site operations & systems.

Your new role

  • Provide subject matter expertise in the interpretation of the WHS Act and WHS Regulations as it relates to the health & safety function, to improve the safety culture and manage compliance requirements under the legislation.
  • Support the implementation of a new Safety Management System for a specific business Unit and adopt a continuous improvement approach through ongoing monitoring, reviewing and reporting.
  • Coordinate and implement WHS training modules for staff and managers to promote safety best practice, increase WHS awareness and ensure WHS compliance.
  • Coach the Transport Services executive and management in good safety leadership practices to enhance competency in assessment and control of workplace safety risk.

What you'll need to succeed

  • You will have at least a Cert IV WHS with higher qualifications preferred
  • Comprehensive knowledge and experience in the interpretation and implementation of WHS related legislation and standards in accordance with: NSW WHS Act 2011, NSW WHS regulations 2011, NSW WHS Regulation 2017, Safe Work NSW & Australia, IO AS/NZ 45001:2018 OH&S Management Systems, and workers' compensation and injury management legislation and regulation.
  • Minimum five years' experience in the areas of workplace risk management, hazard identification and incident investigation.
