Apply your talent where it counts as a Safety Health and Environment (SHE) Business Partner in our Battlespace and Integrated Systems team, based in Edinburgh Parks, Adelaide. Other possible locations for this role may be Melbourne, VIC.

About the Opportunity
Responsible for supporting and leading the SHE Advisors to influence, implement and embed enterprise programs. Work collaboratively with the SHE Capability and Governance and Health, Wellbeing and Injury Management teams to deliver improvement initiatives aligned to the SHE strategy, develop local improvement programs and implement practice which aims to prevent injury and minimise risk.

In terms of more specific responsibilities, you will:
  • Participate, collaborate and consult with teams to ensure they are engaged and aligned to SHE strategic priorities, have the right tools to do their job and have the confidence to manage safety, health and environmental obligations and risks
  • Deliver sustainable SHE risk reduction programs that identify risk mitigation opportunities and support continuous improvement
  • Implement, review and continuously develop BAE Systems SHE management system including risk assessments and controls
  • Establish and facilitate systematic approaches to hazard identification and risk assessments directed towards asset and operational lifecycle
  • Support the development of the line of business critical control program as part of the targeted Significant Incident Fatality (SIF) reduction program
  • Manage safety, health and environmental event response and reporting procedures
  • Lead formal investigations, inspections and audits working with the SHE Capability and Governance Leads to ensure findings and actions address systematic improvement and control effectiveness
  • Ensure key learnings and hazards are communicated through the SHE Lead to support the enhancement of the organisations learning culture
  • Conduct compliance assurance activities in line with the SHE Strategy and business improvement plans to verify and validate the integrity of SHE risk controls
About you

As an ideal applicant for this opportunity, you'll have:
  • A tertiary qualifications in safety, health and environment or relevant field
  • An ICAM Lead Investigator qualification
  • Demonstrated experience in a similar role preferably within high risk or manufacturing industries
  • Prior experience leading and managing people
  • Comprehensive knowledge and understanding of relevant legislative, regulatory and compliance frameworks and governance requirements
  • Excellent communication, influencing and coaching skills
  • Proficiency in MS Office suite
