Apply your talent where it counts as a Safety, Health and Environment (SHE) Advisor in our Maritime Sustainment team, based in Henderson, WA.
Despite COVID-19, we have a strong pipeline of job opportunities and we are still hiring. We're continuing to provide the Australian Defence Force with what they need to help protect the nation. About the Opportunity
This role will closely support the SHE Business Partner and the line of business through the provision of specialist advice, reporting and knowledge of SHE principles and practices to continually improve safety, health and environment performance across the project and meet legal obligations.

In terms of more specific responsibilities, you will:
  • Influence stakeholders, implement and embed programs and work collaboratively with the SHE teams enterprise wide
  • Participate, collaborate and consult with staff to ensure they are engaged and aligned to SHE strategic priorities, and have the right tools, confidence and ability to manage their SHE obligations and risks
  • Review, support and continuously develop BAE Systems safety management system including risk assessments and risk registers
  • Facilitate and establish a systematic approach to hazard identification and risk assessment directed towards asset and operational lifecycle
  • Establish and support the development of the line of business critical control programs as a part of targeted significant incident fatality reduction program
  • Manage site safety, health and environment event response and reporting procedures concerning significant hazards, injuries, incidents to ensure accurate and timely response and data analysis
  • Participate in compliance assurance, continuous improvement and professional development activities
About you

As an ideal applicant for this opportunity, you'll have:
  • A diploma level qualification in Work, Health and Safety
  • A Lead ICAM investigator qualification
  • Proven experience in Safety, Health and Environment in a high risk industrial or construction environment
  • Comprehensive knowledge and understanding of relevant legislative, regulatory, compliance frameworks and governance requirements
  • An ability to apply cognitive and technical skills to access, analyse and evaluate information and inform the SHE strategy and practices
  • Excellent problem solving, communication and engagement skills
  • Good attention to detail and ability to write reports
