TMHA is now looking to recruit a dynamic and experienced Return to Work and Injury Management Specialist based at TMHA's Head Office in Sydney.

The primary focus of this role is to manage TMHA's return to work activities.

The job will exist to mitigate risks of workplace injuries across TMHA and effectively manage the injury management and rehabilitation process for injured employees when injuries occur. It will also be responsible for providing TMHA operations with strong, professional and well considered injury management support.

 The key functions of the role will be as follows: 

  • Effectively manage and coordinate injury management across TMHA by case managing and providing professional advice to relevant managers and branch-based Return to Work Coordinator
  • Liaise with insurers in different states and territories across Australia in ensuring the most effective and proactive management of claims and injuries and ensuring successful rehabilitation of injured employees
  • Be familiar with all relevant workers compensation legal frameworks in all states and territories across Australia
  • Have strong working knowledge of all TMHA workplace injuries and coordinate all rehabilitation and injury management activities associated with such injuries
  • Undertake in-depth investigations into workplace injuries to identify root courses of such injuries and prevent future workplace injuries
  • Undertake in-depth post-incident risk assessments in order to continuously manage risks across TMHA and improve TMHA safety system
  • Develop and revise TMHA risk management matrix based on findings of investigations of injuries
  • In conjunction with the WHS team and TMHA management analyse TMHA injury trends and develop and manage an effective injury prevention system
  • In conjunction with other WHS team members and TMHA management implement system improvement measures across TMHA operation
  • Work with other members of TMHA WHS team in order to develop, maintain and manage TMHA safety system
  • Manage and administer TMHA workers compensation insurance policies, including submitting all required information to insurers, reviewing and projecting TMHA claims cost and premium cost
  • In conjunction with other WHS and HR team members provide TMHA management and employees with required WHS and Injury Management training

A successful candidate will have:

  • Work Health and Safety/Social Science/ Occupational physio/Ergonomics or other relevant tertiary qualification (desirable)
  • Minimum of 5 years of injury management experience with significant operational exposure to the industrial sector
  • Solid experience in manufacturing/logistics or other relevant industries
  • Strong working knowledge of WHS and Workers Compensation legislation across Australia
  • Strong analytical and investigative skills
  • ICAM or similar investigation expertise
  • Very strong interpersonal skills (including influential skills) with an ability to liaise with multiple stakeholders
  • Previous experience with change management
  • Strong computer skills including Excel proficiency
