The Opportunity

Due to some exciting internal development moves the team are looking for some new HR Consultants to join this very well-regarded team. The HR Consultant delivers proactive, customer focused HR consulting services and collaborative, innovative advice on a range of human resource management activities to support a high performing and accountable workforce. The role mentors HR Officers and reports through to an HR Business Partner.

Accountabilities

While two days are never the same, the HR Consultant would be involved in:
  • Providing expert HR advice and assistance to clients on HR policy and procedures in line with Enterprise Agreements and coordinate the provision of advice from specialist HR teams.
  • Proactively coaching and advising leaders and client groups on a range of solutions across the HR function including employee relations, organisation design, learning and development, workforce planning, talent management, recruitment, and remuneration in order to support business strategies, plans and priorities.
  • Supporting and managing workplace change processes, staff complaints, performance management and conduct issues and other complex issues across a range of client groups.
  • Undertake research and analysis on workforce information and trends and deliver effective HR reporting as required.
  • Building and maintaining strong relationships with key stakeholders by providing responsive advice and service to support business outcomes and facilitate a positive employee experience.
  • Provide support and assistance to the HR team including mentoring HRO’s in navigating more complex matters.
  • Coordinate, support and implement HR projects and initiatives as required.


Skills and Experience required for this role include the following:

To be successful in this role the skills and experience you will have are:
  • A relevant Degree with extensive HR experience or an equivalent level of knowledge gained through any other combination of education, training and experience.
  • Experience in interpreting legislation and Industrial Agreements together with policy and procedure to provide effective HR advice and solutions for client groups.
  • Experience managing change processes, performance management or conduct issues from end to end
  • Strong client orientation/customer service skills and a demonstrated commitment to success in providing effective HR solutions to business needs.
  • Ability to work autonomously, demonstrate initiative and willingness to adapt.
  • Outstanding written and verbal communication skills. Demonstrated analytical and problem-solving skills with the proven ability to network and influence stakeholders.
  • Effective computer literacy with excellent skills in Microsoft Office applications
