Our client has been providing quality laundry management services in Australia and New Zealand for nearly 100 years.

With Corporate Head Office just north of Melbourne CBD, our client operates across multiple states and territories plus New Zealand.

We seek a highly motivated Safety Professional who will proactively partner with, coach, and positively influence operational line management and align WHS goals to broader organisational goals. The role is tasked with providing continual improvement of the WHS management systems, especially at a plant operational level, assurance framework, and the safety performance for all of the business.

The role reports to the GM of HR & Safety.

The success of the role will be measured by:
The development of a culture that is focused on manager-led delivery of safety.
The implementation of the Safety Management System.
The provision of timely advice and support to operational management and employees on a range of safety issues.
The execution of the organisation’s WHS Strategy and ensure WHS outcomes are achieved in accordance

Qualifications in WHS (Minimum Diploma, or working toward) and/or experience equivalent
Working knowledge of Work, Health and Safety legislation and risk management principles
Minimum Certificate IV in Training and Assessment or working toward
Current Valid Australian Driver's Licence

A minimum of five years experience in a similar role
Demonstrated experience in developing and implementing WHS programs that assist the organisation in achieving outcomes, as well as demonstrated experience in auditing of WHS systems.
Demonstrated experience in developing, implementing, presenting and evaluating WHS training programs.
Ability to analyse complex data using computer products to review incidents and trends, making solution focussed recommendations.
Demonstrated experience in facilitating system and culture change in a production work environment.
Demonstrated high level negotiation, mediation, consultation and communication skills (written and verbal) with the ability to work both autonomously and in a team environment.
Ability to manage multiple projects concurrently in a high volume work area while managing competing priorities
Demonstrated knowledge of WHS law and a sound understanding of AS4801
Knowledge of WorkCover and injury management processes
