The Organisation

The needs of this client are varied, complex, and global in scope. With a workforce of over 50,000 and growing, they need to backfill this role due to an internal promotion. In this key role, you will be tasked with minimising industrial disputes, enhancing the effectiveness of the EA negotiations, and supporting broader business objectives.

The Role

Not for the faint-hearted, no two days will ever be the same. You’ll rotate between providing employee and industrial relations advice, undertaking complex investigations, and mediating and nurturing cooperative working relationships with unions. A natural builder of relationships you will provide coaching and advice to senior managers and possess a resilient approach with the ability to influence behavioural change in others.

What you bring

  • Tertiary qualifications in law, industrial or workplace relations or human resources
  • Prior experience supporting front line leaders to improve performance.
  • Strong commercial acumen and the ability to build an understanding of key business drivers quickly using curiosity and initiative
  • Relevant experience within a large, complex company or heavily unionised environment, preferably within the blue-collar sector i.e. transport, construction
  • Expert knowledge & technical competence in broad ER/IR disciplines gained by leading industrial negotiations and building and maintaining professional working relationships with unions
  • Strong analytical skills including the ability to analyse data, understand trends and develop recommendations
  • High level of energy, resilience, and drive
