The role of the People Team at PHD is to develop and deliver best practice people and talent management programs that align with PHD’s overall business strategy. The role of the People and Development Advisor’s is to work closely with the Head of People & Development, the talent team, and senior stakeholders to support and grow PHD’s people.

The role


You will be responsible for coordinating and driving the implementation of PHD's People Melbourne practices and initiatives day-to-day, providing human support to our 100 staff & working closely with the national people team based in Sydney.

This includes:

  • Supporting the agency’s comprehensive Talent Management strategy, including coordinating the reviews process
  • Supporting in the implementation of our comprehensive training program including scheduling training sessions, liaising with trainers and participants
  • Support PHD employees and managers by being available, listening and providing advice as required and work with the Head of People & Development to recommend solutions to employees and teams
  • Coordinating the onboarding of new staff including managing admin processes with the recruitment and payroll teams, etc.
  • Maintaining all relevant documents and systems to ensure accuracy of employee data
  • Supporting with Visa applications and other key employee processes such as Parental Leave applications
  • Participate in People Development strategic projects within the Omnicom Media Group, Australia’s leading media agency group
  • Support in driving exciting Diversity & Inclusion initiatives across our dynamic agency culture
  •  This is a role with significant potential for learning and growth as you will work closely with the Head of People & Development, gaining exposure to strategic talent management and employee relations in a supportive environment.


Required skills and attributes


  • 2+ years’ experience in a generalist HR admin role
  • Tertiary qualified in Human Resources
  • Excellent computer skills
  • Impeccable communications skills both written and oral
  • Attention to detail and time management skills
  • Ability to juggle multiple tasks in a timely manner and to a high standard.
  • Excellent active listening skills
  • Ability to handle confidential information with care and tact
  • Personable and approachable manner
  • Demonstrates passion for challenge and progress both socially and professionally.
  • Culture fit is essential as well as a passion for HR and the media industry in general. The advisor must also possess a proven track record of dealing with the administrative level across all tasks.
