We have recently commenced a transformational journey with the launch of a customer-led strategy. This means we are transitioning to a service organisation, evolving our operating model, how we work and the people strategy to support our Corporate Plan objectives and future direction.

With this in mind, the People Strategy and Effectiveness team must continue to be highly connected and in tune with the agendas and operating realities of the Business needs, partnering closely with the wider business to ensure the nbn operating model is purpose-driven, meets and anticipates these needs. The teams focus in on the development and execution of the strategic roadmap of workforce and people transformation activities across the enterprise. Covering workforce strategy, strategic workforce planning, operating model transformation and organisation design capabilities, the team is comprised of professionals who work in a flexible and pragmatic nature to advise senior leaders and drive people-focused transformation activity across the business.

A bit about your role

This role is accountable for leading the operating model, organisation design and workforce transformation projects and initiatives of high strategic value.

This includes:

  • performing a holistic review of the current operating model and organisation design
  • developing high level operating model or organisation design options
  • supporting senior business leaders to articulate the strategic objectives of organisational change
  • developing the detailed organisation structure, roles and accountabilities
  • working with partnering teams to support the transition and implementation planning
  • leading ‘end-to-end’ change

A bit about you

The role requires you to have deep expertise in operating models, workforce transformation and organisation design. You will be leading with relevant external thinking and strong insight into the relationship between the operating model and business performance.

You will have a proven record as a senior professional in leading people strategy, operating model and organisation design activities; understanding of both corporate and people strategy development; and a strong working knowledge of end to end organisational change. You will have a deep understanding of how to evaluate and redesign aspects of operating models and how changes in strategy impact the operating model.

Furthermore, you will have strong experience consulting with business leaders on critical strategic problems; working through a challenging period of transformational change working in fast and agile ways, and strong presenting and influencing skills at senior and executive leadership level.

Experience working within large scale transformation programs ideally gained working in a management consulting, or similar, environment will be considered of benefit. You will be numerically and analytically strong and highly capable of constructing narratives and delivering presentations
