JOB DESCRIPTION

We are currently seeking a values-driven and proactive HR Business Partner to partner with managers and leaders in the Mission Delivery Portfolio in Victoria. The Mission Delivery portfolio supports the delivery of The Salvation Army (TSA) mission by providing services to those most in need in our community. This is a 12 month Max Term contract and based at our Coburg office.


You will be part of a collaborative and supportive national HRBP team and you will have access to specialist HR teams such as workplace relations, organisation development, WHS and HR Services.

This is a fast-paced and exciting role that will see you managing your own portfolio across multiple sites. Travel is required with the role, mostly day trips across Melbourne Metropolitan and Regional areas of Victoria. You will be part of a great and supportive HRBP team situated in Melbourne and the role reports into the Lead HR BP.


Key responsibilities include:


  • Supporting business leaders in the development of tailored HR solutions and provide a range of Human Resources (HR) services to managers and employees
  • Be the trusted advisor
  • Advising and coaching leaders on complex employee relations matters, particularly performance management; leading investigations, supporting recruitment, selection and workforce planning
  • Build the knowledge and skills of line managers, ensuring all ER decisions and outcomes are effective and aligned with the overall business and HR plans
  • Delivery of training sessions to frontline leadership
  • Partnering with key stakeholders you will facilitate continuous improvement in the areas of ER, equity and diversity, performance management, recruitment and employee practices 
  • Delivering people initiatives and programs developed by HR Centres of Excellence in a nationally consistent, timely and effective manner
  • Actively participate in and support the HRBP and National Mission Delivery HRBP team to provide quality and consistent HRBP support



The successful applicant


  • A degree qualification in HR, Business or a related field
  • Experience in HR Business partnering
  • Manage complex people management issues and ability to identify solutions
  • ER/IR experience and knowledge of AUS awards
  • Ability to influence, negotiate and build strong relationships with key stakeholders
  • Hands on and people focused approach; confident and positive presence and the confidence to work autonomously
  • Experience in delivering training sessions to frontline leadership
  • Enjoy working in a fast paced and dynamic environment
  • Highly developed written and oral communication skills
  • HRIS experience - working knowledge of Workday and or iChris would be highly advantageous
  • Values driven individual
  • An understanding of and commitment to the Salvation Army mission and values
  • A current valid Driver’s license
