The People team at McDonald’s Australia take talent really seriously (more seriously than we take ourselves!). With employee experience always at the heart of what we do, the Talent Attraction strategy is ultimately where the journey begins. Due to an exciting internal move, a rare opportunity has become available to drive the attraction methods and ensure the best fit for our corporate vacancies. Based between Thornleigh, our CBD office and home and reporting to the Corporate HR Manager; this role calls for an enthusiastic and experienced recruitment professional to join the team.

What can you expect on a day-to-day basis?

  • Manage end-to-end recruitment for all corporate roles across a multitude of functions
  • Phone screen and assess candidate suitability
  • Conduct and arrange face-to-face and virtual interviews with a wide range of candidates
  • Proactively source and headhunt networked candidates, leaving no stone unturned
  • Provide expert advice and guidance to stakeholders, throughout all stages of the process
  • Manage Smart Recruiters recruitment software and other hiring technologies
  • Point of contact for all potential candidates, representing as the face of the McDonald’s brand
  • Lead the strategy and implementation of onboarding and the first 90-day experience
  • Support the Corporate HR Manager in engagement and organisational design activities
  • Work with the Restaurant Operations team on talent succession into the corporate office
  • Manage agency relationships and annual recruitment spend
  • Coach hiring managers (mid to senior) on behavioural interviewing and process
  • Work with the broader People team on engagement and attraction projects
  • Lead graduate and internship opportunities, liaising with the relevant teams and universities
  • Partner with the global Talent team on new initiatives and brand roll outs
  • Continually drive improvements and efficiencies in the HR function

Your keys to success:

You are a warm and natural connector, someone who can pick up the phone and comfortably discuss confidential, robust and (sometimes difficult) topics with stakeholders at different levels, from a junior specialist to a Senior Leadership Team member. You have a customer-centric focus, ensuring that your live candidates and hiring managers remain informed, engaged and satisfied. You find utmost passion in operating as a true business partner, providing advice and keeping a finger on the pulse of the external market. Your enthusiastic nature will push you ahead of the crowd, as will your keen interest in collaborating with a close-knit HR team.

Experience Essentials:

  • Demonstrated experience in Agency or internal recruitment (prior experience in an internal role is certainly not essential!)
  • Deep knowledge of recruitment processes including interview and screening techniques
  • Ability to conduct job offers and unsuccessful candidate calls
  • Exposure to a range of role industries (with a strong interest in shared service)
  • Tertiary Qualification in a HR, Media or Business function preferred
