We are looking for a professional People & Culture Business Partner to own and lead the delivery of excellent service for all our people-related activities.

About the role
You will be partnering with the business to deliver a broad range of People & Culture services and support managers in their mission to manage performance, create a strong safety culture and engage their people.

You will be part of the Freightways Group; People & Culture community and will have the opportunity to collaborate on group-wide people initiatives and directly manage a People & Culture Coordinator.

Your responsibilities will include:
  • Working with people leaders to manage employee relations issues in a fair and professional manner,
  • Ensuring compliance with employment regulations,
  • Onboarding/Offboarding employees with the support of the People & Culture Coordinator,
  • Recruitment in coordination with hiring manager and agencies,
  • Advising and supporting leaders on all people related topics and participate in leadership meetings,
  • Support business strategy in implementing relevant people processes and programs,
  • Support the Health & Safety team to develop strategies to reduce incidents/accidents and manage claims,
  • Overseeing essential training needs and ensure the creation of online courses and organisation of relevant training initiatives,
  • Driving and supporting with culture changes initiatives,
  • Supporting staff in adopting and using HR operational technologies (e.g., HRMS, employee portal),
  • Liaise with parent company P&C Team and ensure Group resources are utilised effectively within the company.

About you
You are a resilient HR professional with at least 5 years of experience in the function, ideally with a mix of blue and white-collar employees. You are passionate about supporting businesses going through growth phases and working closely with leaders. The following skills will help you succeed:
  • Experience in business partnering
  • Extensive experience with employment legislation, Awards and Enterprise Agreements
  • Experience in managing multiple HR projects, organisational change initiatives and OH&S
  • Ability to have courageous and diplomatic conversations
  • Experience in Recruitment and Selection methods and training development and delivery
  • Excellent customer service skills, attention to detail and the ability to set work priorities to meet deadlines
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to engage and influence stakeholders
