About The Role

We are looking for an experienced compliance/rostering professional to join our wonderful People & Culture (P&C) team focusing on embedding best practice procedures and monitoring for continuous improvement. You will be responsible for building outstanding relationships with internal customers, senior managers and other key stakeholders so that P&C can build and test compliant business practices consistent with our focus on delivering amazing employee experience. You will need to be comfortable continuously flexing in the face of the constantly changing external and internal environment, running with the pace of the business and delivering on multiple simultaneous priorities.

About you - do you have the following?

  • Demonstrated experience and working knowledge of employment legislation and the application of industrial instruments (including but not limited to Modern Awards, Enterprise Agreements, the Fair Work Act etc).
  • Experience in contributing towards policy development and compliance.
  • Workforce Management/Rostering experience including development and maintenance of policy & procedures; vendor & system management, and partnering with business on best practice.
  • Ability to stay abreast of developments in the area of compliance and rostering practices as relevant to SBS.
  • Ability to make recommendations and escalate material compliance or rostering issues when appropriate.
  • Demonstrated experience managing and implementing projects and reporting on project progress.
  • Excellent communication, collaboration, teamwork and interpersonal skills.
  • Demonstrated experience in P&C compliance, corporate employment law, or P&C operations at a Manager level.

The SBS P&C team has been recognised as one of Australia’s most innovative HR teams with an amazing leadership team who strive to make P&C at SBS a fantastic place to work. We are a relatively large, and highly engaged team that covers all P&C functions from business partnering, recruitment, safety, operations & payroll, rostering best practice, talent & diversity, through to learning & development. Working largely independently, you will report into both the Head of P&C Operations and Senior Employment Lawyer/Employee Relations Manager and work closely with the wider P&C team. Flexible working arrangements are available.
