  • Equipping individuals, families and workplaces with high quality first aid products and services 
  • Working alongside emergency services organisations in times of need and disasters 
  • Workplace health services such as contracted paramedic services and temperature testing

About the Role 

The Recruitment Manager reports to the GM People, Performance & Culture and will join the senior Leadership Team at St John NSW. The Recruitment Manager is responsible for attracting top talent who are aligned with the organisations Values & Behaviours, along with embodying the capability and capacity requirements to deliver St John NSW services for the community. This requires understanding the staff and volunteer workforce planning needs of our current and future business and volunteer teams, to deliver evolving programs and services to enable the St John mission of saving lives in our communities.

The Recruitment Manager leads a dedicated recruitment team, who provide recruitment partnering support with Managers and Volunteer Leaders across the business and volunteer teams. As a leader, the Recruitment Manager is responsible for coaching and developing the Recruitment Team to successfully deliver their role objectives, grow their skills, develop their capabilities, and strengthen staff engagement collaboratively as part of one organisation.

You will be responsible for: 

  • Reviewing and assessing the recruitment strategy to achieve a person-centred Recruitment approach that meets organisational needs and alignment with our St John NSW Values & Behaviour Statement 
  • Overseeing the management and coordination of end to end recruitment activities including advertising, search, sourcing and pipelining candidates for current and future needs across the whole of organisation to deliver recruitment needs in a timely manner 
  • Developing innovative and proactive sourcing strategies for the organisation with the focus on right person for the right position 
  • Designing, reviewing and facilitating recruitment & selection training across the business to educate leaders on recruitment processes and ensure they understand their responsibilities 
  • Providing leadership and coaching to the Recruitment team to develop them to their potential to deliver a consistent, engaging and high-quality service to internal customers and candidates 
  • Engaging regularly with leaders across the business to understand workforce needs, and developing strategies to attract, recruit and retain the best talent 
  • Ensure diversity and inclusion principles are reflected in recruitment practices and communicating employer value proposition to candidates, recruiters and the market 
  • Produce recruitment SLA’s and reporting data to assist in candidate and process improvement initiatives 

Our ideal candidate demonstrates the following: 

  • A minimum of 7 years’ experience in a proactive recruitment position within a medium sized organisation 
  • A minimum of 3 years’ experience as a Recruitment/Resourcing Manager within a large organisation, along with significant experience in developing recruitment/sourcing strategies 
  • Experience working in a high-volume recruitment environment 
  • Experience working in complex environments/organisations and managing complex projects with a focus on meeting deadlines 
  • Results driven by a strong work ethic with an ability to identify and meet operational and strategic deadlines 
  • Demonstrated proactive consultation and collaboration with stakeholders and customers to drive continuous improvement, aimed at delivering exceptional, fit for purpose recruitment services 
  • Customer and candidate centric approach to in managing internal customer and candidate expectations, needs and requirements
  • The ability to relate and communicate with people in a wide variety of roles and industries
