We are looking for a capable and flexible Human Resources professional to join our award winning People & Performance department to inspire and drive change during a time of cultural and operational transformation.

The Human Resources Business Partner is a generalist position responsible for providing strategic and operational Human Resource Management (HRM) and Industrial/Employment Relations (IR/ER) services and support to the leaders and team members of Canterbury-Bankstown Council. This is achieved through partnering with the departments and units, and fostering strong relationships with client groups to deliver innovative solutions and effective outcomes for the organisation.

There is one temporary full-time position of up to 9 months in duration. This role will be partnering with leaders and team members in our newly aligned City Assets department.

The salary range for these opportunities commences at $90,132 (Grade H, Step1) + 9.5% super.

Responsibilities Include

:
  • Provide HR expertise and coaching to leaders in relation to their HRM and IR/ER responsibilities including Award related matters
  • Provide accurate, timely and consistent advice regarding reward and benefits, employee relations issues, business realignments, workforce planning, performance management, discipline, grievances and dispute resolution including identifying and communicating outcomes and any significant issues and risks.
  • Lead in the resolution of disputes, grievances, disciplinary and other industrial matters.
  • Build strong working relationships based on credibility and open communication.
  • Provide support on process and policy matters
Essential

Criteria:
  • Tertiary qualifications in HR/IR/ER or similar, ideally at degree level
  • Well-developed HR generalist skills in an award based environment
  • Highly developed communication and relationship-building skills
  • The ability to multi-task and prioritise in a fast-paced environment
  • Demonstrated use of initiative
