About the role


Our People and Culture team are going through an exciting period of evolution and growth, with several new positions created to better service our clients and to deliver an innovative and contemporary people strategy.


The People and Culture (P&C) Support Officer will play an important role in supporting the end-to-end recruitment and generalist Business Partnering functions across Yarra Ranges Council. Supported by the Team Leader Talent Acquisition and the Business Partners, this position will provide high quality customer service, advice and support in the development of recruitment campaigns, right through to contract and onboarding of new employees. You will be the initial point of call for our centralised P&C enquiries line, providing front-line advice and guidance on a wide variety of P&C policies, procedures and the Enterprise Agreement.


Supported by a new leader and a new approach, you will flourish in a high-volume administrative function that enjoys servicing its customers, taking on new innovative recruitment and generalist P&C projects and assisting with the operation of our Human Resources Information Systems (HRIS). It’s a great opportunity for someone starting out in HR or who is looking to looking to consolidate on their experience in a supportive and innovative team.

What you’ll bring to our team


  • Experience in a high-volume administrative or generalist HR function with excellent time management skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to communicate with a diverse range of stakeholders.
  • A willingness to learn and provide support across all things HR.
  • An enthusiastic attitude with a passion for people, enhancing culture and working with a great team.
  • A keen eye for detail who can process documents with high accuracy and observe process improvements
  • Knowledge of Enterprise Agreements, Modern Awards or the Fair Work Act is desired but not essential.
  • Experience in Technology One, SuccessFactors or similar HRIS is advantageous.
  • National Criminal History Check (Police Check)

Salary starts from $65,601 per annum (Band 4), plus superannuation
