Catch is embarking on an exciting journey of growth, as our business grows so does our team. We are seeking a Department Manager to join the Fulfilment Centre based in Truganina. This is where the magic happens! The Fulfilment Centre strives to provide a high level of customer service and get orders out in a timely manner to our loyal Catch customers.

You’ll play an essential part in the day to day running of the site department to ensure safety, service and performance targets are achieved at the highest level. You’ll be an expert in all things OH&S for site regarding safety, values, operational performance and strategy. Above all, you’ll be responsible for coaching and developing supervisors, team leaders and other team members to enable future extended operations and accommodate growth.

What You’ll Be Doing

What does a normal day in the life of a Department Manager look like?

Well, no two days are alike at Catch, but you could probably expect your typical day to include some of the following things

  • Implement and evaluate safe work practices, improve safety performance and celebrate safety achievements
  • Create and implement safety inductions and Safe Operating procedures
  • Identify and report risks and site incidents and ensure they are documented, actioned and escalated
  • Assist in the implementation of emergency response and building evacuation processes
  • Build a strong team ethos that facilitates continuous improvement and a high-performance culture
  • Monitor, Track and Improve Departmental KPI’s
  • Monitor and ensure team compliance with company policies, Awards, Equal Employment Opportunity and other relevant legislation
  • Integrate compliance requirements into business strategy, planning and decision-making and manage the resolution of compliance issues
  • Work with other departmental managers to ensure smooth and efficient day to day operations throughout the facility
  • Liaise with senior managers to ensure the top down dissemination of safety, performance and future vision requirements
  • Manage a team of 20-40 employees across 2 or 3 shifts


Requirements
  • At least 4-5 years’ experience in a similar operational role within a Fulfilment Centre or DC setting
  • Excellent business acumen with a sound understanding of financial metrics within supply chain and retail in general
  • Demonstrated experience in managing a small to medium team
  • Occupational Health and Safety knowledge
  • Proven to be effective with stakeholder management and the ability to work collaboratively
  • Ability to identify opportunities to deliver strategic objectives
  • Able to make and execute decisions in a fast-moving business environment
  • Confident with Microsoft Excel
  • Valid driver’s licence
