GLOBAL STUDENT RECRUITMENT MANAGER

Base salary of $97,000 to $110,000 depending on skills and experience

Base salary + Super + Sales incentive scheme

As one of just a few Australian higher education institutions with a global network of campuses spanning four countries, the University of Wollongong (UOW) is seizing the opportunity to take a renewed global approach to international student recruitment under a framework managed by its wholly owned subsidiary, UOW Global Enterprises. This new approach will see UOW leveraging its global campus footprint, breadth of human resources and agent network to undertake student recruitment for UOW Australia and UOW's international campuses closer to target markets.

The new Global Student Recruitment Framework's establishment is seeing new agreements reached with international agents, new systems established, and recruitment staff appointed to offshore hubs in Dubai, Hong Kong, and Malaysia - physically close and responsive to future students throughout the student recruitment life-cycle. They will work along-side a team based at UOW Global Enterprises headquarters in Australia.

Two identical positions will be based in the UOW Global Enterprises headquarters in Australia and will not only provide onshore leadership for recruiting to UOW and UOW College Australia, but will also collaborate with the offshore recruitment teams and contribute to the UOW International Recruitment Strategy. It is expected that all Global Recruitment Teams work together as one global team to achieve recruitment targets.

Responsibilities

Reporting to the Director Global Student Recruitment Partnerships, this position is responsible for recruiting international students from onshore in Australia, Pacific and New Zealand markets to the UOW Global Network of Campuses by

  • Developing and implementing annual student recruitment plans, strategically targeting territories and regions.
  • Providing quality account management.
  • Managing and developing recruitment channels for source market.
  • Being a 'market expert' on the designated international markets for this position.
  • Collaborating with other key organisational stakeholders of the UOW International student pipeline.

Selection Criteria

Essential
  • Demonstrated understanding and track record in student recruitment within tertiary education environment, specifically with agents.
  • Relevant experience in a student recruitment, sales or a customer service role with the ability to work towards recruitment targets with a strong understanding of recruitment cycle and recruitment timelines.
  • Relevant Bachelor degree or equivalent experience and professional development.
  • Sound knowledge of the issues impacting the recruitment and admission of international students onshore in Australia from recruitment agents.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills, excellent presentation skills and the ability to confidently promote UOW and UOW College.
  • Excellent interpersonal and cross-cultural skills with experience in managing multiple stakeholders and the ability to develop and maintain strong, positive relationships with a diverse range of clients, including potential students, agents, key partners, institutional representatives at all levels of seniority, sponsors, government officials and/or distributors with the objective of increasing business to the organisation.
  • Effective time management skills with the demonstrated ability to work well under pressure within a team, in a high volume environment.
  • Demonstrated understanding of international students experience and decision drivers for prospective students.


Desirable
  • Proficiency in one or more foreign languages; ideally Mandarin.
