Reporting to the HR Business Partner this position is responsible for partnering with our NSW Bulk Freight business, with key accountability for the support of 10 operational sites across NSW. Accountable for a range of HR Generalist activities, the HR Advisor will play a vital role in partnering with and providing guidance to our business leaders and employees on a range of aspects including but not limited to onboarding, performance management and development, employee relations, organisational capability and workforce strategy.

The role is based at our Enfield depot or our North Sydney head office and constitutes a rare opportunity to work closely with a HR Business Partner to support a vast, geographically dispersed operational workforce.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Provide day to day HR Generalist advice, supporting and coaching our line managers through EEO matters, conducting investigations and making recommendations.
  • Contribute to the development, implementation and monitoring of policies and procedures based on relevant industrial agreements and/or legislation and HR management practices.
  • Assist in developing HR documentation and assist in monitoring workplace compliance.
  • Contribute data to the talent review cycle that includes performance management, talent reviews, succession plans, career development planning and diversity and inclusion in collaboration with the HR Business Partner.
  • Support Recruitment and Selection processes as required.

About you

Ideal candidates will possess the following skills, experience and attributes:

  • Understands the business partnering model and the value add in delivering this relationship to the business.
  • A sound understanding of HR policy, employment law and employee relations; with demonstrated behaviours that are aligned with best practice and our values.
  • Is a confident problem solver and capable decision maker with strong communication skills to implement positive change.
  • Qualifications in Human Resources or other related disciplines, or experience in a related role is essential.
  • Experience working in a complex operating environment.
