About the Agency

Resilience NSW is a new Executive Agency in the Premier and Cabinet cluster, established in May 2020, to transform the whole of government approach to disaster management in NSW. Resilience NSW leads and coordinates disaster prevention, management and recovery – learning from experience to drive strategies and investment to reduce risk, build resilience of NSW communities, and give confidence to our communities to live, work and invest in NSW.

Resilience NSW keeps people and communities at the heart of everything it does. By leading a whole of government approach to disaster recovery and resilience, we ensure that people are cared for, acknowledged and empowered – so that all NSW communities are better prepared for and supported on their journey of recovery from any crisis or disaster event.

About the role

Resilience NSW is an RTO and provides industry best practice emergency management training for NSW stakeholders and communities. This role will coordinate the delivery of a state-wide training portfolio that addresses future focused training needs and provides timely, targeted disaster and emergency management training outcomes.

Key responsibilities of this role include (but are not limited to): 
 

  • Manage the training facilitation and delivery project cycle using organisational project management methodology to ensure training delivery outcomes are achieved on time, on budget, to quality standards and within agreed scope.
  • Build and liaise with a network of training facilitators across the state who can assist in the development and delivery of the program to meet demand.
  • Liaise with external partners and subject matter experts to deliver course content that aligns to contemporary adult and evidence-based learning frameworks and is relevant to the workplace.
  • Support collaborative research relevant to a resilience training framework to assess applicability for implementation as best practice.
  • Liaise with stakeholders to understand training needs and identify skill gaps so that training program development and/or delivery will meet need and uplift capability.
  • Liaise and work with internal and external stakeholders to ensure effective interface between program planning, development, policy and delivery.

About you

You’re an experienced learning and capability professional. You use your solid understanding of adult and vocational learning principles and practice to bring learning content to life for internal and external stakeholder participants. You’ll bring energy and drive to the team that will help shape a new agency. The successful applicant will demonstrate;
 

  • Tertiary qualifications in learning and development or equivalent experience in a relevant field.
  • A minimum training qualification of Certificate IV in Training and Assessment.
  • Experience of delivering training content across different mediums and to varying levels of participant knowledge.
  • Working knowledge of the Australian Quality Training Framework (AQTF) and requirements relating Registered Training Organisations (RTOs).
  • An ability and willingness to travel within NSW and support other operational roles during disasters, emergencies and other events, consistent with skills, background and personal circumstances.
