About my client

My client is a well-established SA brand in the Horticulture industry. Being a family business, they pride themselves as an employer of choice in terms of employee engagement and retention.

They have also demonstrated resilence and experienced significant growth through Covid-19. With a lot of exciting projects in place, they are now wanting to engage an up-and-coming HR Advisor to backfill the HR role on a 12-month contract, with a view to continuity after.

About your role

Reporting directly to the HR Manager and working closely with the leaders of the organisation, some of your key responsibilities are:

Facilitating and coordinating of HR activities.
Advising and assisting supervisors/ managers in applying sound recruitment and selection practices.
Managing employee relations, hearing and resolving employee grievances and counselling employees.
Conduct investigations and develop reports for senior management.
Maintaining HR systems and employee records.
Assisting with payroll functions, such as areas for process improvement and standardisation of payroll systems.
Review, implement, monitor and evaluate HR policies and plans to meet business needs.
Assists managers in applying appropriate inuction and training, as well as development programs.
Develop and implement reviews in Employment Hero to appriase and improve individual and team performance.

About your profile

The successful candidate is an up and coming HR professional, who has a strong desire to learn and take on this generalist position. Ideally, you are a strong communicator, have great interpersonal skills, ethics and cultural awareness in working with a diverse workforce.

You are resourceful, have a knack for problem-solving and and detail-oriented. You can also demonstrate an understanding of state and federal employment laws. Knowledge of Employment Hero and MYOB, as well as payroll skills is also desirable.
