About the role: 

The Health, Safety and Wellbeing role is an outstanding career opportunity for a professional who has substantial experience in WHS and RTW. Reporting to the Manager of Quality and Compliance, you will be team focussed, and play an integral role in our organisation through the provision of expert advice and support to our leadership team.

The Health, Safety and Wellbeing Partner provides the organisation with contemporary WHS and RTW practices that meet legislative requirements and good practice standards. The position is responsible for all aspects of workplace health and safety, workers' compensation claims management and workforce wellbeing initiatives.

The role will be responsible for promoting and increasing knowledge, understanding, commitment and compliance with relevant policies, procedures and WHS & RTW legislative obligations. Your expertise will enable you to work autonomously, providing effective solutions for ensuring an ongoing safe working environment and enhancing the wellbeing of our workforce.

You will:

  • Lead the development and achievement of the Health, Safety and Wellbeing strategic objectives and initiatives
  • Monitor the effectiveness of the Safety Management Systems through internal and external auditing.
  • Conduct WH&S risk assessments and site inspections in the organisation where required.
  • Design and implement a holistic wellbeing program that is integrated into CLO's employee value proposition, and benefits customers and Advisors.
  • Play a key role in organisational risk management, both operational and strategic.
  • Review and analysis of injury and wellbeing data to inform strategy and initiative development.
  • Analyse and prepare written reports, other publications, and presentations for key internal and external stakeholders.
  • Providing expert advice and support to our leadership team on ensuring quality and legislative compliance in WHS and RTW.
  • Developing and maintaining effective business partnerships with key stakeholders and Managers to understand requirements and identify trends, solutions and strategies that meet our WHS objectives and legislative requirements
  • Proactively lead our RTW program, WHS committee and Health and Safety Representatives.
  • Monitor SA health and Safe Work notification regarding COVID-19 updates in SA
  • Drive the organisation's COVID 19 response plans.

To be successful: 

Your key asset will be in your passion for achieving quality outcomes and implementing proactive approaches in WHS, RTW and wellbeing. You'll be naturally confident building strong relationships and delivering effective WHS and RTW solutions.

You will:

  • Hold a minimum degree level qualification in WHS management or equivalent
  • Be qualified and experienced as a Return-to-Work Coordinator.
  • Have a minimum 2 years' experience in a WHS advisory role
  • Have high level/advanced computer literacy (Microsoft Office Suite)
  • Strong organisational skills, with demonstrated ability to work independently to organise and prioritise workload, handle multiple tasks and work efficiently and effectively to deadlines and respond to multiple and diverse stakeholders.
  • Well-developed written and verbal communication skills; adaptable to the specific needs of individuals or groups - including liaison, negotiation, and resolution.
  • Understanding of the statutory and regulatory frameworks in which Community Living Options operates.
  • Current Australian Drivers Licence.
