THE ROLE

  • Salary Package: From $97,783 – $106,018 p.a. (HEW Level 7), plus 17% employer's superannuation.
  • Appointment Type: Part-time, Fixed Term until 18 December 2021.

We are seeking an experienced and motivated Career Advisor to join our passionate recruitment team focused on supporting employment opportunities for student and graduate placements. You will guide students on campus by maximising their employability, advising with job application and interview skills, and placing students in positions within the University and with key partners within the Macquarie Park Innovation District (MPID). YOu will provide career advice to students including career planning, resume development and interview techniques. You will develop career related information and resources to benefit students including online and best practice sample resumes and transmittal letters
You will be required to plan, develop and deliver career events, employer presentations and trade fairs on behalf of the University. Provide internship advice and services to students, including the development and implementation of internship preparation information, workshops and resources and internships facilitation.

About You


You will be an experienced recruiter with either agency or internal recruitment experience, and will enjoy providing career and recruitment support and advice to a range of clients.

You will be a pro at managing time and resources to complete tasks and achieve objectives. You will be solution driven and quality focused, able to deliver a range of recruitment projects and will have advanced personal communications and interpersonal skills. You will have expert knowledge in evaluating information and data to solve problems and make decisions.

You can develop and maintain strong internal and external relationships with a wide range of stakeholders, and collaborate effectively to achieve shared goals across the University. You will enjoy working in a fast-paced environment and ensure an exceptionally high standard of delivery.

  • Completion of a relevant degree, with subsequent relevant work experience; or an equivalent alternate combination of relevant knowledge, training and/or experience in recruitment, HR processes and student recruitment;
  • Experience in working in both individual and group formats;
  • Providing support and advice to youth and adults.
  • Experience in establishing and managing relationships with a range of employers/ hiring managers.
  • Working with a culturally and linguistically diverse client population.
  • Ability to provide guidance to students/clients about employment and recruitment processes;
  • Understanding of the range of issues impacting on student participation, retention, employability and success within the higher education sector;
  • Demonstrated well-developed interpersonal, communication and collaborative skills to work effectively with stakeholders;
