Fantastic opportunity to join a rapidly growing P&C Team, partner with the State Leadership - deliver best practice HR leadership, advice and support.

What you will be doing: 

  • Partner with the State Manager and state leadership team to ensure best practice legislative and Business processes are met with regards to people and performance.
  • Provide support to and work closely with team members and clients to proactively nurture positive relationships and drive high performance.
  • Navigate and resolve employee relations issues with support from the National P&C
  • Manage the employee lifecycle from onboarding to exit processes.
  • Support line managers to implement and manage team member’s objectives and KPIs
  • Build strong relationships with key stakeholders throughout the Business.
  • Rollout national HR initiatives and training.
  • Build strong employee engagement.
  • Maintain the HR information system with job changes and terminations.
  • Provide advice to team members on HR policies and payroll queries
  • Coordinate and support the annual appraisal review and remuneration review
  • Show leadership in the maintenance of our Safety Culture and Values
  • Implement and monitor work practices and standards to ensure quality, environmental and safe work procedures are adhered to.

  • 5+ years in an HRBP role in a multi-site blue collar environment - ideal
  • Tertiary qualifications in HR or associated degree - preferred
  • Proven ability to provide accurate and lawful advice
  • Responsive and urgent approach to meeting client group needs
  • Ability to quickly assess risk versus reward
  • Ability to act as a confidential sounding board for both managers and employees
  • Hands-on and practical approach with sound judgement
  • Excellent communication skills - written and verbal; superior attention to detail
  • Heart and professionalism, with a strong customer service focus
  • Strong work ethic – self driven with a high sense of urgency and superior time management skills
  • Ability to lead in a Culturally and Linguistically Diverse Environment (CALD)
  • Superior influencing and relationship development skills
  • Ability to travel to sites within VIC SA TAS
  • Resilience and agility
  • Demonstrated experience in managing employee relations issues
  • Knowledge of the market and operational environment
  • Experience in negotiations with Unions - advantage
  • Experience representing a business at FairWork tribunals and conciliations – advantage
