Primary objective:
Provide advice and support on workforce relations matters through a client-focussed enterprise model to Northern

Territory Public Sector agencies.

Context statement:
Workforce Services Support provides HR related advice and support across the Northern Territory Public Sector and is

responsible for the Workforce Services Service Desk, general HR Actions and advice.

Key duties and responsibilities:
1. Provide advice and assistance as the first point of contact for general HR related queries, respond to client requests in

a timely manner and assign tasks ensuring a quality service delivery.

2. Administer and coordinate a broad range of HR actions including flexible work agreements, probation, outside

employment, study assistance reimbursements and other HR related activities as required.

3. Provide advice and guidance on HR policies and procedures ensuring clients are accurately informed.

4. Participate in and contribute to less complex HR projects and initiatives which support the team in the delivery of a

HR service.

Selection criteria:
1. Good understanding and practical working knowledge of customer focussed service delivery with experience in

providing quality HR advice.

2. Knowledge of and experience with the interpretation and application of HR policies, practices and employment

legislation and delegations.

3. Proven high level interpersonal, written and oral communication skills including the ability to communicate effectively

and professionally with team members and a diverse range of clients.

4. Proven well developed organisational skills and the ability to work successfully under pressure in a fast paced

environment to meet deadlines.

5. High level computer literacy skills including experience using various office applications, databases and systems.

6. Demonstrated work ethic and attitude which emulates the department’s values of being professional, accountable,

honest, respectful and innovative.

1. Knowledge of HR systems or the ability to readily acquire.
