The Role

The primary role of the National Health and Safety Manager is to implement the OHS planned activities and manage the organisational risks to ensure that the business complies with its statutory obligations.


The National Health and Safety Manager will collaborate and engage with the business to influence key stakeholders in order to help to improve the effectiveness of the health and safety management processes, policies, procedures, investigations and also the workforce’s understanding, engagement and ability to work safely.


The National Health and Safety Manager operates within a complex and dynamic environment requiring a capacity to exercise sound judgement and initiate effective and timely actions. 


The Requirements

To be considered for the role you will have Graduate and/or Post-Graduate qualifications in Occupational Health and Safety and a comprehensive knowledge of Australian WHS legislation, Codes of Practice and Standards. A detailed knowledge of, and experience with Workers’ Compensation Systems nationally is also required as well as strong, problem solving, time management and project management skills.


You will have proven experience in a similar role supporting a fast-paced, multi-disciplinary business with a varied workforce. In this stand-alone role you will have the ability to manage all day to day OHS administration as well as contribute to the overall strategy of the OHS function with senior management.


Previous Health & Safety experience in the renewables industry or for a solar installer is highly desirable, however thorough knowledge of site based, contractor/sub-contractor OHS procedures is essential.
