We are seeking a motivated and engaged person to fill the role of HR Adviser within our Recruitment and Onobarding team. You will have some experience within APS Recruitment and be familiar with relevant legislation that applys to recruitment and onboarding. You will also be willing to think differently about best practice and challenge old ways of thinking.

Duties

  • Participate across a range of functional activities in a specific area that contribute to the team goal.
  • Provide specialist and administrative support to managers and staff on a range of Human resource processes and workplace policies, in particular recruitment and onboarding, consistent with legislation and Australian Public Service (APS) requirements.
  • Communicate within defined boundaries relating to the area of responsibility using expertise and knowledge governed by legislation, regulations, best practice principals or relevant operating instructions and procedures
  • Build rapport and maintain stakeholder relationships within defined parameters by resolving moderately complex enquiries and provide information and advice as representative of the work area.
  • Work collaboratively with other teams across the branch to ensure alignment and knowledge sharing.
  • Undertake quality assurance activities to ensure the accuracy and appropriateness of information and procedures
  • Contribute new ideas and identify opportunities to improve the efficiency of business processes
  • Exercises some discretion with respect to how procedures and guidelines are interpreted and applied.
  • Demonstrate capability in line with the Integrated Leadership System at the APS 4 level.
