About the role

Our People and Culture team are going through an exciting period of evolution and growth, with several new positions created to better service our clients and to deliver an innovative and contemporary people strategy. 

The Senior P&C Business Partner will be responsible for partnering with and support our employees and leaders of Yarra Ranges Council. As a senior business partner, this position will provide strategic advice and technical expertise to employees and leaders in their assigned directorates on a wide range of People and Culture matters including resolution of workplace issues and grievances, change management, complex case management, Enterprise Agreement interpretation, reporting and policy reviews.

You will also drive the development and implementation of ‘best-practice’ P&C projects, utilising innovative and collaborative approaches to deliver strategic outcomes. As a senior leader within the P&C Operations team, you will drive change initiatives and be a sounding board and an escalation point for advice and expertise for the P&C Business Partners

What you’ll bring to our team

  • Extensive knowledge and experience in managing a broad range of unique and complex workplace relations issues.
  • Demonstrated experience in developing and leading People and Culture initiatives or projects.
  • Excellent values, self-awareness and empathy leadership qualities that can truly partner with leaders and influence change initiatives.
  • Well-articulated verbal and written communication skills with experience in report and policy development.
  • Experience in conducting workplace investigations including oversight of Unfair Dismissals or General Protections claims.
  • A great understanding of the Fair Work Act, Modern Awards and relevant legislations.
  • Experience in Technology One or similar HRIS is advantageous.
  • National Criminal History Check (Police Check)

Salary starts from $99,156 per annum (Band 7), plus superannuation
