HR Advisor (12 month contract) | Sydney | Banking 

About the role

As the HR Advisor, your duties will include the following: 

  • Leading and managing HR processes for business areas within the Bank, including; performance management; salary review process; employee development; organisational change management; employee relations (ER) & handle end to end investigations for any complaints/staff issues
  • Assist managers with creating/updating Job Descriptions and KPIs for their staff
  • Oversee and manage end to end recruitment and support business areas to fill vacant positions
  • Work closely with the Learning and Development Officer to ensure any training requirements are within budget,
  • Ensure all end of employment tasks are actioned as per the Termination Checklist
  • Oversee work health and safety off staff, ensure any incidents are reported and manage any associated workers compensation claims
  • Expand the employee experience and staff engagement by developing and implementing HR initiatives taking into account engagement/staff feedback.

About you

To be successful in this role the skills, experience & qualifications required are as follows: 

  • Effective verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong soft/negotiation/communication skills
  • Professional presentation and confident manner
  • Observe confidentiality at all times
  • Able to remain calm under pressure at all times
  • High level computer skills – Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint
  • Working knowledge of employment legislature incl. WHS/OHS, EEO, Affirmative Action, Anti-Discrimination
  • High level of attention to detail and able to multi-task
  • Remains flexible and prioritises while working under pressure
  • Complete straightforward queries on work related matters, may refer complex problems for clarification or resolution to Head of Legal or higher authority
  • Tertiary (TAFE or University) qualification in Human Resources is required
  • Minimum 3 years hands on experience in HR and/or similar role
