We are looking for a Principal Advisor Facilities Operations to play a key part in overseeing the safe, sustainable and efficient operation of facilities across our iron ore mine sites and townships in the Pilbara region of WA. Youll be playing a vital role ensuring that everyone who uses our facilities has a safe and comfortable experience.

This is a truly collaborative role where youll work alongside our partner, and regularly engage with Rio Tintos senior management teams across all of our sites. Support will be provided by your own team of Superintendents, a Specialist and an Administrator to ensure we deliver business services. The role will involve strong stakeholder relationship management, both internally and also with our key partners.

Reporting and working very closely to the Manager Facilities Operations, you will :

  • Provide leadership, development and support to a team of high performing Superintendents, Specialists and an Administrator; enabling them to effectively manage and coach the relevant service provider and ensuring those who use the facilities have a comfortable and safe experience
  • Oversee Mass Transportation and our extensive Housing portfolio across iron ore
  • Be a valued partner as you build close relationships with our multiple stakeholders to deliver focused solutions
  • Work alongside our contract partner to build maturity as well as heavily interfacing with the operational leadership teams to continue to drive improved outcomes.

What you’ll bring

  • A passionate safety leader who demonstrates commitment to creating a respectful, inclusive and diverse team environment

  • Current C Class driver’s license

Where you’ll be working

The Facilities Division provides warehouse, flight and accommodation booking, village, town, and aerodrome services to all Iron Ore mine sites and townships throughout the Pilbara region of Western Australia. The management of the towns, villages and aerodrome services are facilitated through a long-term contract partnership, with the facilities team supporting to maintain alignment to safety and quality across the portfolio.

Flexible working arrangements are available. You can take advantage of an ideal combination of working remotely, from home as well as spending face-to-face time with your colleagues on a regular basis at our head office in Central Park - Perth CBD, with irregular site travel required.
